@PflugAlexis@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley I wonder if overcoming the fear he had about collecting for paper route helped in this growth? He was successful and made real connections.
“If I ever met anyone like him I should never call them deaf and dumb.” Pg.165 He knows how labels can be hurtful, and shows more kindness then many adults #paperboypart2@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER
@Nicole42Sierra This made me think of people complaining about wearing masks during this pandemic, because you can't see a smile. A lot can be said with a smile.
@evans_kar@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER I loved that Little Man said that Mam was always the same Mam, unlike the other maids who seemed to act different at the zoo than they had at choir practice.
@megnewt11@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER Although it made me very uneasy for Little Man to go in her house, I know he cares greatly for her and is upset when she cancels.
@EnglertTatum@VVAWTER@JoyceGulley This reminds me of something I read, we would not assume a plant is bad because it is not blooming, rather we would amend the environment. As teachers we have to look for why the child is not blooming.
"I contend that one is likely to find more truth in fiction. A good painting after all is more truthful than a photograph." This made me think of how much truth can be found under the guise of fiction. #PAPERBOYPART1@JoyceGulley@VVAWTER
