Head Teacher Teaching & Learning | Timetabler | History teacher ๐๐บ๐ฉโ๐ซLove to read, travel, exercise & treat my cat like a real human child. Views my own.
Annnnd thatโs my quarterly update for Twitter. Hereโs an updated pic of my dog this week enjoying a coffee with the girls. See you in a few months.
The end of holidays scramble begins. Iโve finished adapting our Y11 Assyrian Weapons & Warfare unit, now onto programming Y8 Medieval Europe and marking assessment tasks. We have 11 x Year 8 classes and have to say Iโm excited to be moving from coordinating Geo to Hist this term.
My least fav part of being HT T&L is that SDDs are always epic. My fav part is literally everything else. Best job ever, particularly not directly managing anyone but still being part of an excellent faculty. I can vibe and timetable in my own office and venture out when I like!
Transforming Australian schools through school culture leadership with Adam Voight was an excellent PL today. Great provocations, ideas, networking, food and iced tea!
Oran Park HS has been focused on implementing Strategies for a Consistent Approach to Teaching and improving collaboration opportunities throughout 2024 through the implementation of PLCs. Today, PLCs displayed the great work achieved thus far in our first Teacher Showcase!
Leading by Learning has been one of the best PLs Iโve ever done, easily. Being coached alongside other schools all year has been a joy. Thank you @DrAMandel & Geoff for the conversations and provocations. Today was a great way to finish my time in the Chipping Norton network!
2 networks, 30 middle leaders, expert coaching from @JacquiPatuawa, Geoff & @jodiharben as we used our theory of interpersonal effectiveness to drive school improvement. High engagement, high collaboration = strong improvements in leadership practice. @k_rigas@dace_elletson
I realise that 10 News only posted this ridiculous question to gain engagement with the tweet (which Iโve fallen for), but damn, the fact we even have to question this hurts ๐ญ
Teachers, principals and community groups are pushing to make public schools fully funded by 2028, a promise the Gillard Labor Government made over a decade ago.
They are putting pressure on the Prime Minister today, with more than 50 organisations taking part in the movement with the slogan: 'Our children are counting on you, Mr Albanese'.
"We should treat every child the same," @ComCouncil chair Tim Costello told 10 News First.
"Private education is fantastic... and every child should be receiving the same level of funding."
It follows data which found funding for public schools rose at only half the rate of independent schools in the decade post the Gonski report.
This salary increase & commitment to further address workloads will help attract & retain the teachers we know the profession needs.
