Henry Louis Gates would later state, 1 out of 20 Black Americans have significant Native American DNA (12.5%/great grandparent).
The way DNA works, siblings don’t have identical genetically markers and the ones without the markers are not counted but ancestry/lineage wise they share the same ancestor. After the great grandparent, great great grandparents (3-11% dna) dna drops in the great great grand kids and can be absent and shows up in one….so in essence the one and the siblings share Native American ancestry because they share the same lineage.
