I plan to spend time with family/friends over the holidays. My husband and I will attempt to cook a Thanksgiving meal so wish us good luck! Looking forward to some tamales, champurrado, & singing along to Mi Burrito Sabanero. It’s always a blessing to be with your loved ones.

Remember self-care is not selfish, and it is important to set boundaries to protect your “me” time and precious time with family and friends. Life is too short to worry constantly so live life to the fullest. Be grateful, have faith, and know that things will fall into place.

Spending time with my family and friends, working out, mentoring aspiring Latinos pursuing medicine, going out to eat at new restaurants, reading books for self-growth, traveling, gardening, creating art, and working on my podcast, the Becoming Latina Physicians Podcast.

While self care is important, having a job that makes you excited is essential to have. What parts of your job are valuable to you? What makes it #special?

Not taking care of yourself can lead to burnout. It’s important to take time for yourself whether that be by walking, dancing, working out, eating healthier, or meditating. You cannot take care of others if you do not care for your mental, physical, & emotional health first.
On to question #3 This question is geared towards our younger #premed or even #highschool students starting to think about all things college and possibly med school. How would you describe what you do to the younger generation? #FutureDoctorInTheMaking
