It's been 2 years since my last donation experience began, and today I have my first blood test for my next round! This time I'm donating at a different clinic, can't wait to see how the process varies between the two!
Lauren is back to share with you details of her implications counselling appointment. Read Lauren's latest blog and follow her on her egg donation journey here: https://t.co/e9Tr6kBp6t @LB_eggdonation
Had a lovely call from Nicci at @HewittFertility yesterday to check in & make sure I was feeling okay. Today I'm almost 100%, even my figure has started to return to my pre hormone-meds form. I've had a great experience donating my eggs, would highly recommend this clinic! #donor
Feeling a lot more myself today, aside from the ache that feels like I've done a long ab workout, so weird to think that the process itself is practically finished for me now. My eggs are going to be frozen for a few months, then I'll have another blood test and it will be done!
I'll need to go back in a few months for more blood tests, and my eggs will be frozen until then. Once that has happened they will go to the recipient families for use in their IVF treatments. Honoured to have had my collection on #worldfertilityday!

And I'm home, got strict instructions to rest, not to drive, and not to sign any legal documents! In total they collected 27 eggs from me which is fantastic apparently, they are going to call tomorrow when I'm more with it to discuss next steps

Starting to feel it now, everytime I shift it feels like I'm getting stabbed. I've managed to go this whole process without painkillers but I may have to ask for some in a bit....x
I'm awake! Apparently I've been awake for 20 minutes or so but I was not aware of that.... apparently I also havent said anything embarrassing in that time so that's good!
I've got my bag with a dressing gown and slippers for while I'm in recover from the anaesthetic. Earrings out, rings and bracelet off ready for the appointment. A friend is picking me up in less than ten minutes to drive me to the Hewitt clinic as I'm not allowed to drive myself.
I've had nothing to eat or drink since midnight, and I'm allowed a small amount of water up to 7am, which is incidentally around the time I leave for the clinic anyway. My acrylic nails are removed, I showered without perfumed products, Feels weird not to wear deodorant....
I've got some of the side effects that everyone talks about! This morning my abdomen and back, around my ovary and kidney area, hurt a lot. I'm so bloated its uncomfortable to do up my jeans so I've opted to leave them undone. Hopefully this means the eggs are ready!
Okay so the #Buserelin side effects aren't quite as minimal as the others, I've been struggling to stay awake today and my ovaries ache like mad. Buseralin can be used at other points in the cycle, but just based on today, I'm happy it was just the trigger for me

I cannot believe I had an internal scan half an hour ago, and it's the covid test that made me feel violated! Must say it wasn't pleasant, but it's the standard protocol now prior to your egg collection to be safe, as little research has been done into covids effects on donation.
