Questa è la scena finale di Loveless (Нелюбовь), film del regista russo Andrey Zvyagintsev, premiato a Cannes nel 2017.

È una scena durissima, che dice molto più di quanto sembri.

Una coppia guarda la televisione con totale distacco emotivo. Sullo schermo scorrono le notizie della propaganda del Cremlino: “nazisti ucraini”, “vittime del Donbas”, e tutto il repertorio di menzogne costruito per giustificare l’aggressione russa.

Ma il punto non è solo la propaganda. Il punto è il vuoto.

Zvyagintsev mostra una società anestetizzata, zombificata, incapace di provare empatia, senso di colpa, responsabilità. Una società materialista, senza etica, senza morale, senza compassione. Una società che ha perso il contatto con la verità e con l’umanità.

Nel film, madre e padre inseguono i propri piaceri, le proprie ambizioni, la propria vita comoda. Il figlio dodicenne diventa un peso. Un ostacolo. Qualcosa di cui liberarsi emotivamente prima ancora che fisicamente.

Quel bambino scappa da una casa senza amore. E verrà ritrovato morto.

Questa è la metafora più terribile: quando una società smette di amare, smette anche di vedere. Non vede più i figli. Non vede più le vittime. Non vede più i crimini. Non vede più la verità.

È la Russia che accetta, passiva e inebetita, i crimini del proprio Stato.

Ma è anche l’Italia di chi, dopo anni di guerra e anni di invasione russa, continua a ripetere la propaganda del Cremlino: “i nazisti ucraini”, “la NATO guerrafondaia”, “Zelensky provocatore”, “la CIA”, “l’Europa bellicista”, “gli ucraini mandati a morire”.

Cambiano i canali, ma il meccanismo è lo stesso. Non serve Russia 1: bastano certi talk show, certi opinionisti, certi post sui social. E tutti lì ad ascoltare, a ripetere, a giustificare.

Ci sono quelli che dicono: “Siamo con l’Ucraina, però Zelensky è un guerrafondaio”. Oppure: “Siamo cristiani, dobbiamo dire no alle armi”.

No. Non è pacifismo. È indifferenza mascherata da morale.

Perché se un popolo viene aggredito, deportato, bombardato, stuprato, massacrato, e tu gli neghi il diritto di difendersi, non stai scegliendo la pace. Stai scegliendo la resa della vittima.

E lo fai perché aiutare l’Ucraina costa. Pesa. Comporta rischi. Disturba la tua comodità.

Proprio come in Loveless, dove il figlio è un peso che minaccia la vita materiale dei genitori.

Questa è la tragedia dei falsi pacifisti: credono di essere morali, ma in realtà hanno solo paura di perdere il proprio benessere. Parlano di pace, ma non sentono il dolore degli altri. Parlano di cristianesimo, ma ignorano l’ingiustizia. Parlano di equilibrio, ma finiscono per assolvere l’aggressore.

Dopo tutti questi anni di guerra, chi ancora rifiuta di aiutare l’Ucraina non lo fa per amore della pace. Lo fa perché, in fondo, ha accettato almeno una parte della narrazione di Putin.

E se davanti a un popolo aggredito, deportato, bombardato e massacrato la vostra unica preoccupazione è non essere disturbati, allora non siete pacifisti, non siete cristiani. Siete solo spettatori comodi del dolore altrui.

Come la coppia di Loveless, guardate la tragedia sullo schermo senza sentire nulla. Finché non vi riguarda, finché non entra nella vostra casa, finché non tocca il vostro letto caldo e la vostra vita ordinata, potete ignorarla.

Ma il prezzo dell’indifferenza arriva sempre.

E quando vi sveglierete, forse vi accorgerete che ciò che avete lasciato morire non era solo l’Ucraina.

Era la vostra coscienza.

Bin selber Ossi. Habe in einem verkommenen Produktionsbetrieb gelernt. Kohlen geschleppt. Die verdreckte Luft geatmet. Alles, was mich umgab, war kaputt, auch die Menschen. Im Unterschied zu denen da bin ich aber den Wessis dankbar und versinke nicht in Mitleid oder habe mir eine besondere Antenne für Diktatur angedichtet. Obwohl ich die schon damals hatte und demonstrierte als die Vopos noch prügelten. Die da haben damals gar nichts getan. Die da hatten es nie schwer, auch nach der Wende nicht. Schwer hatten es die Polen, Ungarn, Tschechen und vor allem die Jugoslawen - denen als Flüchtlinge im Osten die Scheiben eingeschmissen wurden.
Wir im Osten hatten abgefederte, auszuhaltende Probleme, aber waren 1990 alle in Italien und sonstwo wie Graf Koks am Buffet und wedelten mit der D-Mark.

Und jetzt stehen die da und halten sich für erleuchtet - winken mit Russenfahnen und ergötzen sich in Vernichtungsfantasien gegen „Altparteien“; in denen sie sich nie engagierten.
Dabei müssten die auf Knien rutschen dafür, dass Leute aus Essen, Dortmund und Hamburg teilweise Kassenkredite aufnahmen, um im Osten den Russen-Schrott zu beseitigen. Aber NÖ: Riesige Klappe, von nix einen Plan und ein Handy voller Lesezeichen zu Nuoviso, Ken Jebsen und Daniele Ganser.

When Russia finally cracks and offers to negotiate, expect a flood of Western politicians to pressure Ukraine into a bad deal.

We need to call out this political cowardice before it ruins a historic chance to defeat Russian imperialism.

The structural foundations of the Russian war machine are cracking under immense pressure. Russia's overall situation is deteriorating, and while the endgame might take a while, Moscow will eventually be forced to look for a diplomatic way out. They will try to look reasonable by offering small compromises.

This is where the danger peaks. Our Western governments are heavily populated by leaders who will panic and see this as an opportunity to wash their hands of the conflict. Out of sheer cowardice, they will try to bully Ukraine into accepting whatever deal Russia puts on the table.

We must state clearly that Ukraine cannot accept this betrayal. The power to decide when to make a deal belongs strictly to the Ukrainian people, not to anxious Western politicians. The few brave governments in our alliance must stand up to the cowards and ensure Ukraine has the backing to stay the course.

The ultimate goal cannot be a temporary ceasefire. Russian imperialism will remain a direct threat to the entire continent for as long as we tolerate its existence. To make Europe safe, we must use this exact opportunity to defeat it completely. This is a time for strength, not capitulation

There is so much Russian propaganda it's genuinely disturbing.
Initially I was not sure about supporting Ukraine because I was prone to the propaganda we see with Candice or the Tate's.

I swear I never received such hate for supporting a cause as I have with Ukraine.
There is a concerted effort to suppress the voices of Ukrainians or Ukraine supporters.

Think about this for a moment.
I never received such hate for supporting Japan or Myanmar or Iran but Ukraine?
Ukraine gets so much hate and it's not random.
It's a effort to discredit Ukraine.
From Tucker Tate you'll see so many people travel to Russia (which is just Moscow)
And claim "Russia is 50 years ahead of the West" ever heard that before?

It's the same playbook that China uses.

You really have to understand that so much of what you're hearing is from the mouth of the Kremlin.
People think China is the master of propaganda yet that's not the case. The master of BS has always been Russia.

Last night, Russia launched one of the largest attacks of the war, using tens of missiles and hundreds of drones to target apartment buildings, hospitals and civilian infrastructure throughout Ukraine. Over 17 people have been killed, including children, while more than 100 people are injured.

With its typical cynicism and against all evidence, Russia now uses its vast network of disinformation outlets to falsely portray its war crimes as ‘legitimate strikes on defense enterprises.’
