What can be so challenging yet so rewarding in education is the teachers and staff - the adults in the building, carrying the weight of so much in their lives, also doing their best to carry the weight and stand in the gap for the students who are trusted in their care.
@SturmDon Yes and then out of the blue you get a coffee from a parent who appreciates how you handled a situation OR you see the data from your 2nd grade reading interventions and kids are growing!!! It’s the days of the drip, drip, drip that make it tough to see the light ahead.
@teachergoals The adults at my school strengthen my resolve to grow kids even stronger every day. We become part of a support net or gnaw holes in it. See the good.
@Unity_Ali_Smith@dmcdonald141@GCobbHunter What about seeing ACTION on intervening when educators see warning signs of a child in distress? We need systems that screen students for potential mental health issues and then provide them with professional supports that teaching coping skills.
