General Behavior does not treat prediction as fixed prophecy.
It treats prediction as conditional phase-state forecasting.
A visible trajectory remains valid only while the system’s internal state, active signals, and interpretive structure remain sufficiently coherent.
Once a meaningful choice or disruptive event occurs, the interval updates and the future trajectory must be recalculated.
The Phase Reference Interval State Map (PRISM): can be represented circularly or linearly, but the clock form locates the system’s phase position within the interval cycle while showing available Z-capacity from 0% to 100%.

A musical phrase typically exhibits an event-like activation, followed by movement, and ultimately resolution. Similarly, a chord can generate tension before reaching a state of repose. A rhythm may involve repetition, deviation, syncopation, or a return to a cadential structure.
While this does not directly equate to GB, it illustrates a patterned progression over time.
GB says:
People are not the ripples they leave behind. Profiles, diagnoses, histories, and forecasts are shadows cast by accumulated experience.
The individual is always the next drop entering the pond, forever ahead of the pattern we can observe.
Every choice enters the water and reshapes the surface. As new drops fall, old ripples interfere, reinforce, or fade, changing the probabilities of what comes next. The future is never fixed because the water is never still.
The goal is not to predict the next drop, but to understand the pond through which its ripples travel. When we can see the accumulated patterns within and between us, empathy no longer requires agreement, and accountability no longer requires blame.
The map is not the person. It is only the pattern their journey has left upon the water.

The same event can occur to two different people and produce entirely different outcomes. One person encounters failure and becomes discouraged. Another encounters the same failure and discovers purpose.
The difference is not the event. The difference is the structure into which the event enters.
Every event leaves a trace. It alters what captures our attention. It changes our sensitivities, fears, hopes, expectations, and possibilities. Across many such events, a pattern begins to emerge. What Jung called individuation may be understood as the gradual accumulation and integration of events into a coherent identity. From this perspective, life is not measured primarily by time. Years pass whether we develop or not.
What shapes us are the intervals between who we were before an event and who we become after it.
A person may experience more development in a single conversation than in the previous decade. A society may change more during a crisis than during centuries of stability. The significance lies not in duration but in transformation.
Meaning, therefore, resides neither in the world nor solely within the individual. It emerges in the interaction between event and subject.
An event presents possibility; the subject determines significance; development preserves the result.
Jung spent much of his life exploring the symbols that arise from this process. What I find increasingly compelling is that beneath symbols, myths, dreams, and narratives lies a more fundamental principle: Meaning is the developmental consequence of events.
The events themselves pass. What remains is the transformed structure through which subsequent events are understood. In that sense, identity is simply the history of meaning made stable. It is the accumulated geometry created by a lifetime of events.
And perhaps that is why they feel timeless. Events do not merely occur in our lives. They become part of the framework through which the rest of life is experienced.
The cookie, an example, doesn't decide for Neo. It simply settles the noise.
The Oracle bakes the cookies because she already understands Neo himself: his history, fears, desires, habits, and the countless choices that shaped him up to that moment.
By offering the cookie, she's not changing who he is. She's creating an event where his existing nature can express itself more clearly.
The choice remains entirely Neo's. But from the Oracle's perspective, the range of possible outcomes is no longer evenly distributed. Given who Neo has become, some choices are overwhelmingly more likely than others.
The cookie isn't about removing free will. It's about removing uncertainty. It reveals the trajectory that was already latent within him, allowing the Oracle to see the choice before it is consciously made.
The Oracle doesn't remove choice. She removes uncertainty.
By understanding Neo's current state, history, biases, and tendencies, who he has become, she can predict which choice is most likely to emerge from his manifold.
The choice is still his, but the probability distribution is already heavily skewed before the decision occurs.
A = You before an experience.
B = The hidden developmental interval containing thousands of micro-events: signals, perceptual mapping, interpretative modulation, and behavioral selection.
C = You after.
Most people consciously experience A and C.
Meaning, adaptation, learning, and development happen within B.
The entire interval from A → C is the macro-event.
What we call "a good morning," "a stressful day," or "a life-changing event" is the integrated outcome of countless micro-events occurring within that hidden interval.
The four-layer model shows that behavior emerges from a structured process in which signals are constructed, perception maps them into meaning, interpretation reshapes that meaning through internal states, and internal and external gating stabilize the distribution of options from which the subject selects behavior.
In Interpretive Physics, every system — biological, mechanical, or collective — can be described by three orthogonal dimensions of response: activation, direction, and capacity.
Together, they form the geometry of interpretation — the way meaning behaves as a physical quantity.
One way to visualize the event-drift cycle is through the motion of a Newton's cradle.
The balls separate, reconnect, exchange energy. and separate again.
The system alternates between interaction and redistribution.
In a similar way, development emerges through alternating phases of activation and restoration. Events generate change, while drift redistributes and settles that change into the system.
