Here's how things ended up in Regional 2 Midlands East to end the season.....
The top 2 try scorers are the same as last year but in a different order!
Congratulations to all!
R2ME GW22: Kettering v Oadby Wyggs: It’s in their own hands but this is a huge game for @OfficialKRFC who will definitely stay up with a win & they've won the last 3 meetings. @OadbyWyggsRFC scored 8 tries in a big win last time out but they've lost back to back games on the road
March TOTM for R2ME - last one of the season!
Some players may be slightly out of position, some rewarded for appearances over the season & some deserving players will have missed out - please remember - it's only for fun!
R2ME GW19: Oadby Wyggs v Broadstreet: @OadbyWyggsRFC are looking for a 1st home win of 2025 after back to back defeats on their own pitch so far this year. @broadstreetrfc have suffered 4 straight defeats (picking up just 1 BP in that time) which has seen them drop down to 8th
R2ME GW17: Oadby Wyggs v Olney: @OadbyWyggsRFC lost at home last wk &will have been disappointed not to pick up at least 1 BP but they've a chance to make amends here. @Olneyrfc’s 3 game winning run came to an end last wk but they have won the past 2 meetings between these sides
R2ME PP Catch Up: Oadby Wyggs v Northampton Old Scouts: @OadbyWyggsRFC got back to winning ways last week and return home this week where they have lost just once since September. @NOSRFC have won 6 in a row (all with a try BP) and have won the past 3 meetings between the sides
R2ME GW16: Market Bosworth v Oadby Wyggs: @Bosworth_rugby are on a 4 match losing run but all 3 of their wins this season have come on their own ground. @OadbyWyggsRFC have narrowly lost back to back away games but they did win an exciting reverse fixture 31-28 back in October
R2ME GW14: Oadby Wyggs v Northampton Old Scouts: @OadbyWyggsRFC have lost 3 of their past 4 games but have secured 6 BPs in those 4 to limit the damage to retain 5th spot in the table. 2nd place @NOSRFC have picked up 5 BP wins in a row & they remain unbeaten on the road so far
R2ME GW13: Market Harborough v Oadby Wyggs: @MHRUFC1 are on a 5 match winning streak after a shutout BP win last weekend and they have not lost at home since September. @OadbyWyggsRFC returned to winning ways with an impressive 7-try victory last week but have won just twice away
R2ME GW12: Oadby Wyggs v Leicester Forest: @OadbyWyggsRFC have lost back to back games but they have picked up all 4 BP’s from those matches and in fact have secured 4 try BPs in a row. @LFRFC need to pick up a result soon and will keep pushing on but have not won here since 2005
Here is the belated TOTM for November for R2ME!
11 of 12 teams represented
Some players maybe slightly out of position, deserving players will have missed out and please remember, it's just a bit of fun!
See my pinned post for how TOTM is put together.
R2ME GW11: Peterborough v Oadby Wyggs: @PRUFC won late on last weekend to bounce back from successive defeats & they will now look to push away from trouble. @OadbyWyggsRFC pushed the league leaders all the way last weekend in a cracking game but ultimately came up just short
R2ME GW10: Oadby Wyggs v Lutterworth: @OadbyWyggsRFC have hit some form with 4 wins from their past 5 games including 3 in a row at home but it'll be a real test of their mettle when they welcome runaway leaders @LuttsRFC who have a 10 point lead at the top after 9 straight wins
R2ME GW9: Broadstreet v Oadby Wyggs: 1st league meeting! After winning 4 of their 1st 5 games @broadstreetrfc have now lost 3 successive games to drop right off the pace and into 6th. @OadbyWyggsRFC have won 3 of their last 4 but have won just once on the road so far this season
R2ME GW8: Oadby Wyggs v Wellingborough: After defeat on the road in GW7 @OadbyWyggsRFC return home where they have won their previous 2 matches. @WboroRFC suffered an agonising one point defeat last time out to make it 4 successive losses and have not won on this pitch since 2014
R2ME GW7: Olney v Oadby Wyggs: Charlie Hicks scored all 27 of his sides points in @olneyrfc's narrow victory last week & their 4th win in 6 put them 4th in the table level on pts with 2nd. @OadbyWyggsRFC have won back to back matches for the 1st time since this time last season
