UChicago Medicine Trades and Supply workers’ #UCMCULPStrike is in full effect. It’s time for @UChicagoMed management to come back to the bargaining table and offer a fair contract with pay that keeps up with inflation, improved benefits, and protections for Supply Chain workers.
Researchers gave homeless people $750 per month for a year, no questions asked. The recipients spent the money on food, housing, transportation, clothing, and health care. And after six months, only 12% of those who received funds were still homeless.

Today, 29 legislators at the city & state level sent a letter to Howard Brown Health Executive Leadership & the Board expressing concern at HBH mgmt’s inability to settle a fair contract with our union. Read their letter here:
With 83% of our Union voting, and 94% of that voting NO, a supermajority of HBHWU members have rejected HBH management’s subpar “Last, Best, Final” offer.
Our first bargaining session post-strike is November 21st. We hope that management is prepared to negotiate in good faith.
