World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | Day 4
Today's Key Message: Dangers of Mixed Feeding
For the first six months, your baby needs only breast milk—no water, formula, herbal mixtures, or other foods.
Mixed feeding can increase the risk of infections, reduce the protective benefits of breast milk, and affect your baby's healthy growth and development.
If you have concerns about breastfeeding, don't introduce other feeds. Seek support from a trained health worker or lactation counselor.
💚 Exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months gives every child the healthiest start in life.

World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | Day 3
As babies grow, so do their nutritional needs. From 6 months, introduce safe and nutritious complementary foods while continuing to breastfeed up to 2 years or beyond for healthy growth and development.
Every nutritious meal is a step towards a healthier, stronger, and brighter future for every child.
Together, let's empower mothers and caregivers with the knowledge to give every child the best start in life.
💚 Healthy Feeding Today, Stronger Children Tomorrow.

World Breastfeeding Week 2026 | Day 2
The first six months of a child's life are critical for healthy growth and development. During this period, babies need only breast milk—no water, herbal mixtures, or other foods.
Breast milk contains all the nutrients and fluids a baby needs while providing antibodies that protect against infections such as diarrhoea and pneumonia.
💙 Today's Key Message:
Exclusively breastfeed your baby for the first six months.
Breast milk alone is enough to nourish, protect, and help your baby thrive.
When babies reach six months, introduce safe, nutritious complementary foods while continuing breastfeeding up to two years or beyond.
At Lake Chad Peace & Development Initiative (LCPD), we are committed to empowering mothers, caregivers, and communities with life-saving nutrition knowledge that gives every child the opportunity to grow healthy and strong.
Together, let's support mothers and give every child the healthiest start in life.

The Lake Chad Peace and Development Initiative (LCPD) has successfully concluded a two-month Girls' Club programme across learning centres in Central, Kasachiya, and Mega communities of Gujba LGA, providing adolescent girls with a safe and supportive space to learn, grow, and thrive.
Through interactive sessions, participants gained valuable knowledge on life skills, leadership, self-esteem, child protection, psychosocial well-being, and peer support. The final sessions focused on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM), Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH), and Career Path Development, equipping the girls with practical knowledge to make informed decisions about their health, education, and future.
To support menstrual dignity and encourage uninterrupted learning, 150 adolescent girls received Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) kits at the close of the programme.
At LCPD, with partnership of @savechildrenNG, we remain committed to creating safe learning environments where every girl is empowered, protected, and equipped to reach her full potential.

Nourishing Hope, One Family at a Time
At LCPD, we believe that improving nutrition begins with empowering communities with the knowledge and skills to make the most of locally available resources.
Through the @OCHANigeria@CBPFs, caregivers are being trained on the preparation of nutritious complementary foods using locally sourced ingredients. These practical sessions are helping families improve infant and young child feeding practices, contributing to healthier children and more resilient communities.
Every demonstration, every lesson shared, and every caregiver empowered brings us one step closer to a future where no child is left behind because of malnutrition.
We sincerely appreciate the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund (NHF) for its invaluable support and partnership in advancing lifesaving nutrition interventions and strengthening community resilience.
Together, we are nourishing today, strengthening tomorrow, and inspiring hope for every child.

Open dialogue is key to improving health outcomes. A community engagement session was held with community and religious leaders, women and girls, youth, and persons with disabilities to discuss barriers to accessing healthcare services.
The discussion created a safe and inclusive space for participants to share experiences, with a strong focus on improving health-seeking behaviors—particularly around maternal health and delivery choices.
Such engagements continue to strengthen trust, improve awareness, and promote informed decisions on accessing quality healthcare services.
Thank you @OCHANigeria@CBPFs
