@shannongbishop Sorry I just saw this. You probably already found out the answer but it is an anhinga also called the snake bird because of its long neck. Very common around the water in the Lowcountry.
The birds and I will be at Port Royal Farmer's Market tomorrow morning and then heading down to Hilton Head to Wild Birds Unlimited at 1:30. Stop by either location to see the birds and say hello!... https://t.co/sGi2JGu9ta
This is how to correctly feed baby birds of prey. In this post they are using a taxidermy owl and also have their face and body covered in camo so the babies won't be exposed to humans. https://t.co/RtZKWydf6T
Yesterday was Earth Day at Port Royal Farmer's Market so the market area was very crowded. We love crowds because we get to educate about our native species of raptors in the area. Every child is told not to litter because it harms our beautiful wildlife.
Ever find a feather and wonder what species of bird it belongs to? Very cool site to help you out. Just a reminder, feathers are federally protected so don't take them home. Leave those feathers were you find them. Best to just photograph them. https://t.co/47vP1ooAhh
