College Baseball Program of the Day #016: Lewis-Clark State Warriors โ๏ธ
19 national championships. 140 MLB Draft picks. 18 Major Leaguers. 2027 and 2028 players, Lewis-Clark State in Lewiston, Idaho is the most decorated program in NAIA baseball, and it plays every home game on the same field that hosts the NAIA World Series.
The Avista NAIA World Series has been played at Harris Field every year since 2000, and LC State just signed the longest deal in Series history to keep it there through at least 2033. Ed Cheff Stadium seats 5,000 fans. If you play here, you play your home games on the biggest stage in the NAIA.
The 2026 season:
- 45-9 overall and 30-7 in the Cascade Conference
- Cascade Conference regular-season and tournament champions, the program's second straight tournament title
- Hosted the Opening Round as the top seed and went 3-0, clinched by Cade Westerlund's bases-loaded walk-off single in the 10th inning against Hope International
- Went 7-2 in the postseason and reached the World Series for the first time since 2023
- In Lewiston, run-ruled No. 2 seed Georgia Gwinnett 12-1 behind a nine-run first inning that tied the program record for runs in a Series inning
- The pitching staff led the NAIA in ERA and WHIP all season and finished with a 3.29 team ERA and 438 strikeouts
- The offense hit .317 with a .420 on-base percentage, 68 home runs and 486 runs in 54 games
The players:
- Jackson Jaha hit .415 with a .510 on-base percentage, 9 homers and 39 RBIs
- Brandon Nguyen hit .362 with 15 home runs, 50 RBIs, 68 runs and a .718 slugging percentage
- Izzy Madariaga hit .365 with 12 homers and a team-high 54 RBIs
- RHP Mason Goodson went 8-1 with a 1.78 ERA and threw a three-hit complete game against Georgia Gwinnett at the World Series
- RHP Jordan Lennartson, an Umpqua CC transfer, was a Third-Team NAIA All-American after posting a 1.06 ERA, six saves and a .85 WHIP that ranked second in the NAIA among pitchers with at least 20 innings
The pipeline is real. LC State has had 140 players drafted, including Beau Mills, the No. 13 overall pick in 2007. Warriors who reached the big leagues include Keith Foulke, Brendan Ryan, Blaine Hardy, Seth Brown and Connor Brogdon. Recent picks include Drake George (Giants, 13th round, 2024) and Jadon Williamson (Marlins, 11th round, 2025).
Head coach Jeremiah Robbins came back to Lewiston for 2026 and went 45-9 in his first season back, winning Cascade Conference Coach of the Year and ABCA/ATEC Regional Coach of the Year, the fifth regional honor of his LC State career. In his first run from 2013-18 he went 270-71, reached five national title games and won three straight national championships (2015, 2016, 2017). He is a two-time NAIA Coach of the Year, a three-time ABCA NAIA Coach of the Year and an LC State Athletics Hall of Famer. He earned his 300th win at LC State this spring. Before Lewiston he won seven straight GNAC titles at D2 Western Oregon, and in between he rebuilt the Umpqua Community College program.
His staff:
- Darren Trainor, recruiting coordinator and infield coach. A former Warrior catcher who was a Second-Team NAIA All-American and NAIA West Player of the Year in 2019 and played in the Cape Cod League
- Brandon Vial, pitching coach. Coached at D1 Washington State, won the 2021 NAIA title on staff at Georgia Gwinnett and was Northwoods League Coach of the Year
- Billy Silvestri, a 13-season Warrior assistant. Coaches first base, catchers and outfielders, coordinates recruiting in Northern and Southern California and was on staff for all three Robbins titles
- Bill Stevenson, works with the catchers. A 1985 NAIA All-American on the program's first two title teams who played five seasons in the minors
