The monarch butterflies have arrived for the season—a good reminder of the enduring and symbiotic relationship between the US and Mexico. During my tenure as US Ambassador there, I was blessed to visit the forests where the ancestors of this butterfly wintered. As @POTUS @realDonaldTrump and Mexican President @Claudiashein have recognized, both our countries prosper when we cooperate in a spirit of mutual respect on such critical issues as security, migration, and trade. We mustn’t allow the occasional flareup of political drama to distract us from this fundamental point. 🇺🇸🤝🇲🇽
