A source close to the campaign, and the spouse, were at that event. Per my source, Paxton was not talking about Trump when he mentioned numbers.
He was talking about the economy and how many Americans are feeling the squeeze.

AG Paxton already confirmed this week he will campaign with the President. He will be with him tomorrow in Denton, Texas.
The Democrat Party, with help from The New York Times, is trying to drive wedges between President Trump and Senate candidates all over the country with manipulative, exaggerated reporting.

There is no gap between President Trump and AG Paxton. Hate to break it to you, but that washed-up old playbook is not going to work this time.

You should be more worried about Talarico’s socialist views, sitting in a church that does not even believe the Bible, backing the mutilation of children, and supporting the killing of unborn babies up to nine months, all the way to delivery.

Texas is God’s country. This is the Bible Belt. Texas voters will not stand for anything Talarico is selling.

Paxton’s comments are a nothing burger. He could have blasted Trump, but didn’t. The way @DonaldTrump spoke about Ken Paxton was misguided at best. Calling a loyal, America First warrior, like Paxton, an unattractive, inarticulate, crappy dresser won’t do a lot to drive Republicans out to vote for him- and Paxton is desperately needed in the Senate.
