Word is starting to spread about Merchant, our all in-one, conversion-focussed plugin for WooCommerce stores.
Shout out to @WPTutz for the great video!

Got some BIG NEWS to share!
We have acquired aThemes (@athemesdotcom), a popular WordPress theme company known for building beautiful website templates that are optimized for speed and performance.
Over 130,000+ websites use aThemes' WordPress themes and plugins to build an online presence, launch online stores, and grow revenue.
Their flagship themes Sydney and Botiga both maintain an impressive 4.9 out of 5-star rating on WordPress 🏆
Sydney is a powerful multipurpose WordPress theme used by over 100,000 websites.
It comes with:
• Professional starter site templates
• Easy-to-use template builder
• Multiple header presets
• Flexible blog layouts
• And more!
Botiga is a lightweight WooCommerce theme designed for optimal performance while boosting conversions.
It lets you:
• Customize every part of your online store in real-time
• Create a fly-out mini cart to show cart details at a glance without interrupting your customers’ browsing experience
• Quickly customize the checkout page for high conversions
This acquisition is particularly special because it directly addresses a long-standing request from our @wpbeginner community - to provide a FREE WordPress theme that makes it easy to create stunning websites.

Our software today powers over 30 million websites, and we're helping shape the web for billions worldwide. With aThemes joining the @AwesomeMotive family, we're taking another step in making professional website design accessible to everyone.
My goal is to create the best WordPress themes on the market while keeping them affordable and accessible. We have an exciting roadmap ahead.

Thank you Charlie Livingston (@LCharlie) for trusting us to carry forward your legacy.
In our latest Merchant release we added our first AI features. In the Frequently Bought Together module, you can now let our algorithm choose the products to show as 'frequently bought together' based on your store's order history.

Module setting backups give you peace of mind should you ever need them.
The new Patcher allows us to fix any issues without having to wait for the next version release.

After months in development, Merchant 2.0 is now live, and with it a revamped dashboard, analytics, backups, and more!
The new dashboard makes it easier than ever to navigate and manage your modules.
Analytics enable you to see exactly how your campaigns are performing.
This is the problem our Merchant plugin for WooCommerce solves:
The question is, how much are WooCommerce going to put into core, as they seem to have realised this is an issue too?

Our all-in-one WooCommerce plugin, Merchant, has just hit 10k+ active installs!

We will soon be adding analytics to Merchant so that WooCommerce store owners can see how effective their Merchant campaigns are (like bulk discounts and so on).

It's nearly Christmas but we're still shipping over here at aThemes!
I'm excited to announce our latest Merchant module is now live - Recent Sales Notifications.
This is a feature that I'm noticing on more and more stores, and is an easy way to create social proof.

@jamesckemp Nothing wrong with the name, but we (builders) need clarity around what it means. For example, what exactly is coming to core, and how do you decide what goes into core and what doesn't. We don't want to waste resources building things that you are going to give away for free.
@PoeHaH Didn't see them announce this yet, but at a glance this looks potentially even worse than current pricing. 10 contacts a day, which is not much, is $158 per month.
Work has started on v2 of Merchant. What we're aiming for: brand new Recent Sales Notifications module, analytics dashboard, and automatic review requests. It's going to be big!

A lot of it is about been in the right niche, at the right time, with the right people. There are many factors beyond your control, like the competition, Google (or other platform) updates, and tech trends that will play a large factor in your success.
I don't get these kinds of tweets. The advice below is so abstract as to be useless.
Hit 250,000 impressions a month by tweeting every day, launch a SaaS charging $30 a month (god knows what for exactly), grow the business for a few years and sell for a huge multiple.
Right.
And I could go on and on.
There is something else the author forgot to mention, which is the role luck plays in any kind of business success.
People on Twitter like to act like it's all skill, but it's not.
