i finished that new Lego Batman game few days ago and that exact type of dialogues was there too. "hmm it's a piece of portrait, we need the other two to solve a puzzle, hmmm now i found another one, one left, hmmm"
plus constant humiliation of main character as a nice bonus
The only reason the cube is there and why the sword - I'm sorry, the sword ribbons - are talking is for them to treat you like a retard if you don't solve a puzzle within 4 seconds and instantly give you the solution.
That and every moment of silence will be filled with quippy marvel dialogue between the ribbons and the cube so the players wouldn't fall asleep if nothing exciting happens.
i'm woman btw, i want to play old cool Kratos and Arkham Batman, i want badass dudes doing cool things, fight enemies and slay dragons.
sorry for the rant, that new GoW game and getting back to Arkham games reminded me about what i love but can't have now.
i'm mad on new GoW games (2018 and later), and latest arkhamverse games because Arhkam and GoW were series about cool dudes doing cool and cruel things. but we can't have cool dudes in games now, take your ugly girlbosses and watch old characters gets killed and/or humiliated.
@subtle_breath Once again - i dont care about game's lore, why this thing looks that way and what it is in-universe. I don't like the game about IRL mythos having this thing in it as a character, a concept, design.
why of all things jelatinous cube is there? a DnD monster? in a franchise which is (at least was) about mythology of real world cultures? does they have not enough magic creatures in real myths so they must go dig tabletop game's bestiary? what's next, pokemons? tyranids?
My first GoW game was 2018, it was fine i guess, and then i played GoW3
now i strongly dislike 2018 and won't touch ragnarok or that new thing with a nine-foot stick. bearded kratos is not the real Kratos
Didnโt grow up a God of War fan so I played 2018 then went back and tried the first one and I have never felt so bad for fans of a series as I did that day.
@subtle_breath I'm not about the lore or game's story,i don't care what multiverse reason writers will bring. I'm asking why make game about IRL myths and cultures but use a game monster for MC's pet.
Even if this cube is in reality is a lake of that lady - it's a talking cube of jelly from DnD
@subtle_breath I'm not talking about sword and talking cloth on it, I'm talking about a cube from DnD bestiary. Jelatinous cube is not related to myths, it's a monster from tabletop game. Why it's here? They have all mythic heroes and gods in one place now, but took game mob for MC's pet
I finished it's story and bruh, final boss is so bad story-wise. Just jumped out nowhere "look, i'm the megamind and the baddest baddie of the game!"
City is cool, gameplay is fun, but no replayability, almost no secrets or collectables in missions, very few playable characters.
playing lego batman
first levels were bad. no abilities, almost no puzzles, annoying companion, stupid silly mc, "let me in the city plz, i'm bored here"
but city and missions there are fun so far!
special thanks for Arkham stuff, after all those years i still love the trilogy

srsly Arkham trilogy (no, origins, you're adopted) is peak AAA gaming. gameplay, story, characters, visuals, style, activities, evolution through games, unique features, details - all perfect. Arkham Batman and Joker still live in my top-10 fav character tier list of all time
