I’ve just finished watching BBC ‘Reunion’ and there was so much food for thought. As a deaf person myself it made me feel privileged for the support/opportunities provided to me which has enabled me to be where I am today. The interviews with the cast was really insightful (1)
@Smithpeteralb72 CODA but I’ve been meaning too. I think Rose has done no end over the last few years to help de-stigmatise deafness and give young children a deaf role model. So sorry to hear about your experiences with trauma/abuse, I think it’s always hard as it’s never deserved and nobody (2)

@Smithpeteralb72 Thank you for your kind works Peter 🙂🥰! It’s not something I ahout about unless it’s relevant to the conversation haha. I was born deaf (due to genetics but the only deaf person in my family), and have worn hearing aids since the age of 3. I started school with very limited (1)
@nypost If a man did this to a woman everyone would be saying he should be charged! There were so many other ways to handle the situation that didn’t involve ruining his life and leave him with long standing medical needs 😠🙄. He was wrong for what he said… but this was no match!!!
A line that really stuck with me that everyone can learn a lesson from “Do you know the worst part about being deaf? It’s when you try to tell people something - and they don’t want to listen”. I’ll definitely be taking this into my professional practice and making an effort (5)
emotions appropriately which is often a factor that leads to them committing their crime… yet this is not recognised enough and then the right support given to help reduce and prevent cases like this. (4)
