Does anybody else feel like life never really went back to normal after 2020?
And I’m not talking about masks, lockdowns, or any of the political debates. I mean the feeling of life itself.
Everything technically returned to "normal." The stores reopened. The roads got busy again. People went back to work. Life kept moving.
But something still feels different.
The years seem to pass faster than ever. Friendships feel more distant. Conversations feel shorter. People seem more distracted, more exhausted, and less present.
It’s hard to explain because nothing obvious is missing.
Yet somehow it feels like we lost something important along the way.
Life used to feel slower. More connected. More genuine. There was a sense of optimism, excitement, and possibility that’s difficult to describe now.
Maybe we're all just getting older.
Or maybe 2020 changed people in ways we're still trying to understand.
I can't put my finger on exactly what was lost.
I just know that life used to feel a lot more alive than it does today.
There is an unwritten rule to life that most people never get told. After every long stretch of hardship and uncertainty, a period comes where you make quantum leaps across multiple areas of your life at once. It happens all at once, and it happens because of everything you survived before it. The only requirement on your end is simple. Do not give up on yourself before that period arrives.
There’s a level of depression where you don’t want to die, you just stop feeling particularly attached to being alive. You still make plans. Still laugh. Still show up. You’re just watching life happen instead of feeling inside of it.
Most of us aren't going through a lot. We just need money. Like me right now, there's absolutely nothing wrong with me. I'm just financially inconvenienced. The moment money hits my account, I'll recover immediately.
Saa ingine hii maisha hunikasirisha sana. Kwanza ukigundua vile mambo mingi tunafanyanga apa haina maana kabisa. Most of the things we do have no purpose. Studying, Sex,Technology, Religion,Loving, Hating,Politics etc. All these things are simply distractions; Ways for us to pass time waiting to die. Its almost as if,we were boen so that we can die. All our contributions here, amount to nothing. Sasa kama kesho tunaamka mapema kuenda kazi, kazi ya nini? Na ndio nachekanga sana nikiskia mtu anasema binadamu ni Mwerevu.
Where is the intelligence? If we have ignored the real fact, that we are all dying soon, and instead of finding ways to make life is easier for ourselves for the brief time we have here,we have rather embraced a parasitic system called Capitalism that only ensures few people live nobly, and branded it as civilization. We have devoted our entire lives on accumulating fake wealth, that we will leave very soon. Where is the intelligence? Mimi unajua tangu nihamie huku kwa apartment ya lift nimeanza kufanya kitu inaitwa meditation, lift ikipanda najipata namedi tu. Aih!

hot take, but not really: the majority of the advice you're getting about your life is just somebody describing what worked for them under conditions that no longer exist.
