๐ฃ Ian Burchnall has been appointed as our First Team Assistant Manager.
Burchnall joins Manager Michael Skubala in a coaching team which also includes First Team Coach Alex Ball and Goalkeeping Coach Pat Mountain.
Having coached in Norway, Sweden, Scotland, the Premier League with Wolves, the EFL with Notts County, and with the Jamaican national team, Burchnall brings a wide range of experience.
Skubala said: โIan is a great first addition to my coaching staff and an excellent coach, having been a head coach and an assistant manager across Europe, including the Premier League. He will bring real experience and dedication to improving players whilst bringing great energy every day on the grass and he canโt wait to get started with the players next week.โ
Bristol City CEO Charlie Boss said: โThe club is delighted to welcome Ian as Michaelโs assistant manager. We also say farewell to Craig Fleming who leaves us by mutual consent. Weโd like to thank Craig for his contribution to Bristol City in the year he has been with us and we wish him all the best for the future.โ
A dream come true to start at Stamford Bridge for my Premier League debut.
Iโd like to thank all the Chelsea medical staff, everyone at St Maryโs Hospital, my teammates, and all the fans for their great support.
I canโt wait to be back playing in front of everyone very soon.
