Thomas Ivor is the big brother of Association members @FamilyByCycle Ruth and Rhoda Jones, who cycled from Land’s End to John o’ Groats in 2018; Rhoda won the Association’s Adams Elloway Trophy. We watch with interest!
Day 1 was always going to be tough. Plenty of climbing, it rained, and I was fresh off the sleeper train from London.
Penzance to Land’s End - 10.22 miles
The famous door at Land’s End to a friendly campsite just past Launceston - 96.78 miles. #LEJoG#EndToEnd@LEJOGAssoc
Peter Langford has cycled from Land’s End to John o’Groats at the age of 90! He’s raised a tidy sum for charity along the way - you can support him at https://t.co/Q6PAeizZf5
Last weekend we tracked the herculean attempt of Lt Col Chris Murray on @2137Lejog for @BritArmyCycling
Chris has provided her honest report of an incredible cycle and herculean attempt which is at https://t.co/fTLOJvVY0H
You were fantastic Chris 👏

Overnight the weather has been absolutely awful. Torrential downpours and as a result very cold temperatures have taken their toll on Chris. Her and the team have made the brave (but very sad) decision to conclude her attempt. She ended at Dornoch Bridge, still on schedule!!! 😢
Chris Murray through Abington services at about 1335 vs 1419 schedules, so approx 46 mins up.
The section from here to the bridge will be faster, downhill with a tailwind on the whole - but some tricky navigation, small roads and surprise kickers to look forward to.
I’ve just seen Chris fly through Tewkesbury High Street at 20:10 followed by support vehicle.
Too fast to snap but going great!
Something about living on the WR route 👏🏼

Chris Murray has set off on an attempt at the women’s cycling record currently held by @christina_mack. Give them both a follow, and get out to support, if you can! 👍🏻
New FKT💥
LEJOG on a @BromptonBicycle: 83 hours.
James Stannard arrived in John o'Groats earlier today to set a new fastest known time for the iconic Land's End to John o'Groats end to end ride on a Brompton.
879 miles. 83 hours.
Let's get this Justgiving some traction. @JasmijnMuller1 is currently over 600 miles into her @lejogrecord attempt to break the 2002 women's record. Raising funds for @CR_UK. Please donate if you can: https://t.co/l9jWE4jSQN
@lejogrecord Into the last night and now you are right in the thick of the fight. The A9 is long and challenging so keep your head in the game, it’s a race against that bloody grey dot now! Come on Jas, push all the way, your World Record is in JoG waiting for you. 🚴🏼♂️
When we complete our journey, we’ll be submitting a report, roadbooks and a dossier of evidence, including GPS, to the @LEJOGAssoc - looking forward to the family being eligible to join at last!
Rhoda Jones is the Youngest Child on record (pending validation) to cycle from Land’s End to John o’Groats - 4 years, 4 months. Her time of 22 days, 3 hours, 26 minutes was narrowly beaten by big sister Ruth (5) who’s the fastest by trailerbike. Thank You to all who supported us.
@lejogrecord @JasmijnMuller1 Looking strong and nice to see you eating when you passed me. Now get stuck into the rather hilly central belt of Scotland. Forth Road Bridge will be soon then onwards into Fife. Keep smashing it. 🚴🏼♂️
@lejogrecord Waiting up the hill after the bridge over the Clyde and the left turn after Thankerton. It’s sunny and warm (20c) Get those leg warmers off. Oh and you have a nice little tailwind here.
John o’Groats. Record broken. After the most unbelievable 43 hours 25 minutes and 13 seconds. Thank you to the whole team for getting @24HourMaths in and, remarkably, ahead of his schedule. 🎉🚴🏻
Ian's currently making his way up the A6 towards Carlisle. We had lots of roadside support yesterday, who's planning to head out today? #LEJOG#worldrecord#cycling#ultracycling
