House Deputy Majority Leader and Iloilo 3rd District Rep. Lorenz "Nonoy" Defensor fired up supporters at the "Iloilo Para kay Kiko kag Bam Volunteer Campaign Kick-off" on Thursday, March 6, urging Ilonggos to back Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Bam Aquino in the Senate race.

"Mag-ingay kayo para kay Kiko at Bam!" Defensor told the crowd, emphasizing the need to bring "liwanag" back to the Senate. He framed the upcoming election as a battle for clean and honest governance, calling on supporters to campaign vigorously.

"Ang botong ito ay boto para sa edukasyon ng kabataang Pilipino. Boto ito para sa trabaho at kabuhayan ng mga Ilonggo. Boto ito para sa kinabukasan ng Iloilo at ng buong Pilipinas," he declared, stressing the importance of voting for leaders who prioritize education, employment, and progress.

Defensor also took aim at vote-buying, reminding Ilonggos: "Sa Iloilo, hindi nabibili ang ating boto!" He urged them to stand firm and make their voices heard, ending his speech with a rousing introduction of former Vice President Leni Robredo, whom he hailed as the "liwanag sa dilim."
