Sad news that Ken Doherty is retiring from snooker after 36 years as pro!

Not a surprise though because I had a feeling that he would do just that after the World Championship qualifiers last season! Results haven't been there and it's the right time to call it a day!

He could have won a lot more in the game if he wasn't for him running into all time great players like Hendry, Ronnie, Higgins and Willo! His 1997 World Championship was a memorable moment in stopping Hendry winning 6 world titles in a row and his comeback from 15-9 down in the 2003 WSC semis to beat the late Paul Hunter 17-16 will be remembered forever!

My late grandad called him one of the best fighters in the game and he duly was! A class act on and off the table and never a bad word said about him by fans and friends!

Thank you for a great career Ken! The Darlin' of Dublin!
