๐ฃ๏ธ Andy Robertson: "I need to start with a confession. Not many things bug me, but if there's one thing that does, it's the idea that my story is a football fairy tale.
I know when people say I'm some sort of Cinderella Man that it's meant as a compliment.
I appreciate that, but to be totally honest, it doesn't feel like one, because it isn't true.
No magic wands have been waved in my direction, I didn't win some kind of lottery to land a spot on one of the biggest clubs in the world. The reason why I'm a Liverpool player is the same reason why I'm captain of my country: I've worked my bollocks off to get where I am, and by doing that, l've been able to make the most of whatever talent I have.
Why does this matter? In truth, it doesn't matter to me as an individual. It probably doesn't matter to my family, either. It only matters because there are God knows how many little Andy Robertsons out there. Kids who are struggling to convince people that their talent deserves an opportunity. Kids who just need a break to get to wherever they deserve to be.
l've never wanted to be a poster boy, but if I'm going to be a poster boy for anything, it should be this โ if you don't give up, and if you carry on believing in yourself when others are doubting you, you can make it. You can show that you are good enough."
Queen Elizabeth II's first cousins (left) Katherine Bowes-Lyon and Nerissa Bowes-Lyon (right). They were registered as dead and hidden from the world in the Royal 'Earlswood Institution for Mental Defectives' in 1941.
Katherine and Nerissa Bowes-Lyon were first cousins of Queen Elizabeth II and nieces of the Queen Mother. Both were born with severe intellectual disabilities and, in 1941, were quietly placed in the Royal Earlswood Institution for Mental Defectives in Surrey. In this era, this was common practice among British aristocratic families.
What makes their story especially troubling is that, for decades, official records listed both women as deceased. In reality, they were alive, living in institutional care, largely cut off from family contact. Nerissa died in 1986, and Katherine in 2014. Their existence became widely known only in the 1980s, after journalists uncovered the truth.
At the time, disability was deeply stigmatized, especially within royal and noble families who feared it could undermine claims of โgood breeding.โ Institutionalization was often framed as care, but it also meant invisibility.
The royal household later stated that the registrations were due to an administrative error by extended family, not a deliberate act by the Crown. But, the secrecy remains controversial.
When staff at Earlswood learned late in life who the sisters were related to, they recalled that the women would reportedly curtsy when the Queen appeared on television, suggesting they knew more about their identity than anyone realized.

๐ฃ๏ธ Alisson on whether Salah will play for Liverpool again: "I hope he plays again for the club, but that's a personal situation between Mo and the club. As his team-mates and friends we hope the best thing happens for him, but as Liverpool players we want the best for the club. We want a win-win for him and the club." #LFC

This action relates to charges that Man City paid its former manager Mancini, some players and their agents from sources other than Man City (such as from its owner or associated parties).
This results in charged breaches of โManager and player remunerationโ.
It could also connect in charged breaches of โCompliance with Uefa regulationsโ and โProfit and sustainabilityโ. This is because if the monies were paid from accounts external to Man City but for Man Cityโs benefit then such payments would not be incorporated into FFP/PSR calculations and would subvert the rules.
As it happens, the magnitude of these breaches is far lower than the magnitude of Action 1 (sponsor payments) in terms of additional spending power. As such, the impact it could have had on sporting success would likely have been less significant.
However, it still could have had some impact - such as being able to win competitive transfer battles ahead of other teams who sought to do so whilst adhering to the rules.
But what is more significant is the apparent willingness to break the rules, repeatedly and as if it were business as usual. It goes to informing a perspective on the culture within Man City as an organisation. An important consideration when deciding an appropriate sanction.
Opportunistic breaches that are out of character are viewed differently from someone happy to commit breaches of the rules any chance they get. It demonstrates a complete disregard for rules or integrity.

The charge here is that Man City arranged for its registered owner (a company called ADUG, supposedly owned by Sheikh Mansour) to transfer funds to its sponsors, who would then pay Man City that money as if it were legitimate commercial revenue.
Money injected by an owner into its company is called equity. Uefaโs FFP rules and the PLโs FFP/PSR rules restricted equity contributions.
By disguising equity as commercial revenue, Man City could smuggle it into the club and subvert the rules, enabling them to spend more than the rules permitted.
This results in the charged breaches of โCompliance with Uefa regulationsโ and โProfit and sustainabilityโ.
As you can see in this linked thread, the email evidence in the public domain discusses arrangements to disguise ยฃ685m (โฌ833m) of equity as sponsorship income over 7 seasons.
The thread also shows the potential sporting impact of such an actionโฆ that all of Man Cityโs major player acquisitions from 2011/12 onwards can be tied to such disguised equity injections. It highlights how those players helped Man City achieve its โsuccessโ that it otherwise likely would not have had. It shows itโs all tainted - every title and every cup.

In reality, Man City are accused of more than 115 breaches of the rules as you can see in the photo attached. It highlights 129 individual rule breaches that Man City are accused of.
But itโs not the number of breaches that matters to be honest - itโs more about the implications of the breaches that affects and informs any potential sanction.
In this thread, I will examine the nature of the breaches and their implications; then explore what a suitable sanction might be, and why.
In order to explain the breaches, l will connect them with the alleged actions that results in the breachesโฆ ๐งต
