If I wanted to signal, even remotely, to other rural queers “hello I’m queer” then I felt like I couldn’t be femme, I couldn’t have long hair.

I’m 4’11”. So I think part of what I try to do in the way that I present is to toughen myself up a little bit. I like to dress femme but I like my piercings to up that to hard femme.

Being trans is so intrinsically connected to what you look like and that kind of sucks in a lot of ways because there’s a lot of pressure to look a certain way.

I have never felt so hot in my life. I have never felt so vibrantly and electrically occupying my self in my life. I feel like I am chasing that moment. I felt amazing. And I want that back.

The baseball hat was like a beard. Like, “oh no, I’m straight because I sports.” But now I get to be myself wearing the same hat, loving everything queer, loving my queerness.
