Workers United is saddened to hear of the passing of iconic civil rights leader Reverend Jesse Jackson. He leaves behind a lifelong legacy of fighting for civil rights, from marching alongside Dr. King in the 1960s to leading Black Lives Matter protests in the 2020s.
At Workers United, we say “No Matter What” because we mean it. We couldn't be prouder of our new members at Starbucks for authorizing a strike today. Their fight against outrageous union busting and to win a fair contract is the fight of a generation. Our union stands with you.
Today, I was on Capitol Hill fighting for members' jobs alongside Todd Browne, CEO of the Tom James Co., and Rep. Morelle, a great ally of labor from Rochester!
The time is NOW! The House is pushing a vote as early as today, that may bring us one step closer to gutting Medicaid. One vote could tip the scales. Speak up NOW—tell Congress: Vote NO to cut Medicaid! Call Today: 866-426-2631. #HandsOffMedicaid
Workers United is saddened to learn of the loss of a giant in the labor movement, Jay Mazur. Jay enjoyed a long career fighting for the rights of workers.
Rest in peace and power, Brother Jay.
BREAKING: Starbucks workers just organized and WON the 500th UNION STARBUCKS STORE in the United States!
CONGRATS to Starbucks partners at Old Fairhaven Parkway & 30th in Bellingham, WA who make history as the 500th location to organize with Starbucks Workers United! 🎉✊🔥
When I met with @ClevelandSBWU workers in 2022, I knew that their movement was strong.
Cleveland is a union town, and apparently so are many towns.
Workers are fed up and they are fighting back!
Congratulations, @SBWorkersUnited!
It’s with great sadness that we mark the passing of William "Bill" Lucy. Bill had been a leader and stalwart of the labor movement for more than half a century, and his loss will no doubt be felt near and far.
I stand with SEIU, Workers United, and millions of people around the world in condemning the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas and all violence against innocent civilians, no matter their background.
We unequivocally condemn the horrific terrorist attack by Hamas and all violence against innocent civilians, no matter their background. We believe all Israelis and Palestinians deserve safety, freedom from violence, and the opportunity to thrive. We stand with SEIU's statement.
The violence in Israel and Palestine is unconscionable. @SEIU stands with all who are suffering, while strongly condemning anti-Semitism, Islamophobia & hate in all forms. I pray for a swift resolution and a future where all in the region can be happy, safe & live with dignity.
Of course Starbucks has been violating federal labor laws for years. But now there is a nationwide NLRB ruling against them. Anyone can see that Starbucks' "defense" is ridiculous.
