Stella Stanley's dad was murdered... she doesn't care what the police say. What she doesn't expect when she starts looking, is 35 years of dead bodies that no one else seems to care about. LOVE YA, KID is upmarket domestic suspense, rooted in the Missouri Ozarks where I grew up.

yet another reminder that writers donโt write like ai, ai writes like US. thousands upon thousands of my words have been stolen.
if you use genai to write fics I have zero respect for you, just as you have zero respect for real writers and the craft you pretend to take part in
Love Ya, Kid is a character-driven mystery/suspense that will appeal to readers of small-town investigations, amateur sleuths, wrongful-conviction stakes, and strong family dynamics with procedural details grounded in grief and personal loss.
the thing is if you use ai to generate fic your writing skills will never evolve. the only way to become a compelling writer is to read widely and write a lot of stuff that embarrasses you later. donโt outsource this magical human experience to the slop machine
@JstWhomever Someone I personally know just "wrote" a whole novel is 2 weeks with AI, and is unhappy that I will not share the link or support it. (It is utter slop). The worst part is, they don't understand why I'm angry. Like, seriously... I have spent the last year of my life writing LYK.
FYI, AI detected a paragraph from Mary Shelly's Frankenstein as 100% AI. So, write however tf you want and ignore the accisations, the readers will be able to recognise what a writer poured their soul into vs what was written by a word spitting machine.
Dear book promoters/book marketeers/fake semi-famous authors, I have no interest in your services, or the editors you know. I do not want to talk about my WIP with you, or my previous work.
I am a poor unpublished writer and have no money to give you.
Please, move along.
@paulbiagi@Mac_Kill_i_can My actual favorite scene is the vicious rabbit, followed closely by: Its not a matter of where he grips it. It's a simple question of weight ratios: a 5-ounce bird could not carry a 1-pound coconut.
@paulbiagi@Mac_Kill_i_can I couldn't agree more. I quote it frequently, along with "Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries."
@Mac_Kill_i_can I hear the ellipsis is the new em dash and I am panicking because I ... the hell out of everything... even my texts and social media posts. Lol
Rewrote chapter 1, and 2 of Stella Stanley book 2, then read 3 and 4 and started on 5. ๐ wrote nearly 6k words... thankfully only 1000 of those are by hand (pen and paper), the rest were on the computer.
