We are a group of representatives from local LGBTQ+ and ally organizations working to advocate for dedicated funding that supports LGBTQ+ residents of DC.
Over the last few months, the DC LGBTQ+ Budget Coalition has been working hard with DC governmental officials, community members, and other coalitions to develop our FY25 and beyond budget & policy priorities. Read our letter:

Thank you to @CMZParker5 and your team for touring the new @TheDCCenter last week, and for your support in securing funding to complete the new center 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
I was thrilled to tour the future DC LGBTQ+ Center in Shaw. I'm proud to have fought for and help win $1 million in the FY25 budget to complete this center. It will house many of the District’s LGBTQ-focused organizations and serve as a refuge for many community members.
Thank you to @BrianneKNadeau & your team for coming to tour the new @TheDCCenter & for aiding in funding the completion of this vital center that will serve so many residents by providing key services and a safe space. Learn more about the new center: https://t.co/ovi9jPIVpx
We work hard. We show up. We advocate. Thank you to @TheDCCenter and @CapitalPrideDC for being amazing partners and coalition members by hosting us! We stood beside our many coalition members today to celebrate Pride and let more folks know about the work we do! #dcbudget#lgbtq

I'm committed to bringing about change for the Office of LGBTQ+ Affairs because it's what the community is asking for. LGBTQ residents deserve greater clarity on how this office operates, and I appreciate @BrianneKNadeau’s partnership in getting this done.

We heard compelling testimony from residents that DMV, other agencies refused Spanish interpretation and denied services when they brought their own interpreters. Nobody should be treated this way–everyone deserves access to services. Also in the @DCHumanRights budget hearing...
Thank you CM Parker for lifting up these priorities. I look forward to partnering with you and other colleagues to identify funds for the budget items that fall under the Public Works & Operations Committee, and work with you on updating the structure of the office.
Thank you to our coalition member @SMYALDMV for hosting our monthly in-person meeting today. We discussed the state of our advocacy work for FY25 & our continued activities to advocate for 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️folks of all ages. Look out for us at upcoming Pride events & more updates #dcbudget
