An estimated 14% or 1.3 million Georgians don’t have health insurance.
Imagine what Georgia Republicans could accomplish if they spent as much tine trying to provide healthcare instead of take it away. And, so we’re clear, abortion is healthcare. #gapol
Let’s be clear: this is as though the entire population of Tifton or Norcross or St. Marys lost their health insurance. As a community, we have agreed to support the elderly and disabled and mitigate unnecessary hardship. Georgia must honor our commitment.
This is one thing—perhaps the only thing—we can agree on. That’s why I introduced HB 580 to ban conversion therapy in Georgia. If Republicans are serious about protecting our LGBTQ youth, they’ll have a chance to pass HB 580 next January. #gapol
🌈The spirit of #Stonewall50 lives in all of us, and I will continue to be your ally every step of the way, using my voice to lift up others. Happy #Pride, and see you in the parade!🌈

Women should be trusted to make our #healthcare decisions, privately, with our partner, our doctor and our God.
#Georgia women and families deserve better than #HB481.

Thank you @ACLU for standing up for #Georgia women & families when Governor Kemp will not.
These painful, private decisions are no place for government. Women must be able to have these conversations w/our doctors, families & God, based on our beliefs & healthcare needs. #gapol
Governor Brian Kemp has vowed to sign #HB481, the 6-week abortion ban, into law on Tuesday.
We will be at the Capitol tomorrow to show Brian Kemp that we are against this dangerous ban and we will not back down. Will you join us? https://t.co/mNcF9eHHPp
Bad policies like the forced pregnancy bill are a direct result of voter suppression. If leaders can silence Georgians’ voices at the ballot box, they can ignore Georgians’ voices when in office. We will fight back in court and at the voting booth. #HB481
Georgia has the highest maternal mortality rate of any state in the country, and Black mothers are 3-4x more likely to be victims than white mothers. The @RockefellerFdn's #WithoutMom campaign is doing critical work to help end this crisis in the U.S. and around the world.
.@BrianKempGA signing #HB481 tomorrow will hurt Georgia women by criminalizing the healthcare decisions of women and doctors. This political stunt will also jeopardize our vibrant film industry. Georgians will fight back in the courtroom and at the ballot box & win.
