In a new article written with my dear friend @mebucca, we adopt a social mobility approach to study assimilation in Western Europe. Our nationally representative analyses for 7 European countries show that the second generation tends to reach similar social class in adulthood 1/3

compared to native populations, conditional on class of origins, with immigrant-specific patterns of social mobility suggesting both an immigrant advantage and penalties for some origin-destination combinations. We started working on this project 2/3
