Polis wrapped his final State of the State with a victory lap. Coloradans are still living the reality of higher costs, unattainable housing, and communities that are not safe. A speech cannot hide what families see every day at the grocery store, in their energy costs, and in their neighborhoods. Colorado needs results, not rhetoric. House Republicans are ready to deliver real results.
Polis just said, "Health care expenses are rising far faster than the rest of our budget. We must
take action to bring Medicaid costs to a more sustainable level and protect access for the 1.2
million Coloradans who rely on Medicaid." Too bad he hadn't thought that back in August when he said we need to slash Medicaid funding...

The Governor says Colorado is one of the best states for business. What he forgot to mention is that we are the 6th most regulated state in the nation. Check back in a few years and see where those business rankings really land.
The Governor touted that average teacher pay is up $13,000, but what he did not mention is that Colorado still ranks 41st out of 50 for average teacher pay, and that is before factoring in one of the highest costs of living in the nation.

The Governor just touted Colorado as one of the top states for electric vehicles. While he has been focused on bringing EVs to Colorado, our roads have been crumbling and basic infrastructure has been neglected.

The Governor just made a list of all his major accomplishments on affordable housing... Why then do we rank 48th out of 50 in Housing Affordability according to U.S. News and World Report...
Here's a quote from the Governor we can actually agree with... "This year we must bring homeowners insurance rates down. Costs continue to skyrocket, up 91% or an average of $2,000 since 2019". Is it just a coincidence that he took office in 2019??
The Governor claimed that H.R. 1 gutted our state budget by over a billion dollars, but the JBC will tell you otherwise. Non-partisan staff briefed our Joint Budget Committee that we would face nearly a billion-dollar budget deficit a full month before H.R. 1 ever passed...
The Governor says he wants a “Colorado for All.” After years of one-party control, it feels more like a Colorado for car thieves, repeat violent offenders, and the worst criminals, while law-abiding families pay the price.
The Governor said that "we are making life safer for all" but the facts say otherwise... Colorado has actually been one of the least safe states for a few years running...

Governor Polis says Colorado is one of the lowest-cost states for energy. Coloradans should ask whether that will still be true in a few years after his appointed PUC moves to phase out natural gas over the coming decades.
@JustaSquidd It's an unconstitutional bill that will cost the state millions in lawsuits if the Dems succeed in passing it, so I'm a firm NO. #2A#shallnotbeinfringed
Yesterday marked the first day of the 2025 legislation session. Here are just some of the things our caucus is fighting for this year 💪
