LGB International is deeply concerned by the arrests and imprisonment of men for consenting adult homosexual sex in Niger. Niger's decision to criminalise homosexuality for the first time is a failure of governance and a distraction by its political leaders.
It is also a failure of the international community which should get back to a strict focus on the right of adults to have homosexual sex. The harsh realities of anti-gay laws are being ignored in favour of fashionable identity politics (also evident in this inaccurate Guardian article).

When we first launched NAG in 2023, many of us were afraid to say this publicly, due to fear of threats of assault, doxxing, loss of employment, and loss of friendships or ostracism amongst our peers.
To see a gay politician speak with such clarity on like this, in the Dáil, only 3 years later, is so refreshing.
Declan Flynn was murdered for being gay, and his murderers got away with it because he was gay. THAT is what the gay rights movement was about in Ireland - equal treatment in the law and to live without fear of social ostracism, loss of employment, harassment or murder.
It was never about corroding women’s boundaries, denying same-sex attraction, telling children they are born in the wrong body, or demanding the tax-payer funds elective cosmetic procedures (and abusing anyone who disagrees).
May Declan Flynn rest in peace. Stop Violence Against Gays and Women.

We’re delighted that on 18th June 2026 Nepal became the 40th country to legalise gay marriage.
The Nepalese Supreme Court has removed the provisional status of same-sex marriage. We look forward to a formal marriage equality act now being codified into national legislation.
This will provide much needed legal clarity for LGB people in Nepal 🎉🥳🎉
Join us by asking your "favourite" politician, agency or organisation to tell you #WhatsBehindthePlus. If they can't tell you, they should not be using unexplained terms in their policies.

LGB International strongly condemns the new law that has been passed in Ghana after years of controversial debate. While male homosexuality was already illegal in the West African country, this illogical law covers "identifying" and "advocating" and may be used against lesbians. It reportedly also makes it criminal to call oneself "queer" or "trans" which certainly should not be crimes.

Med anledning av den debatt som nu förs kring förbud av omvändelseförsök hittar ni här det remissvar som LHB-förbundet skickade in när det begav sig. Vi var bekymrade då och är det fortfarande.
