@CERN From developing innovative accelerators for Hadron Therapy centres to #AI for self-driving cars, read more about Knowledge Transfer on our instagram (https://t.co/xygvxd1C1L) and on the Knowledge Transfer website (https://t.co/Azg0kCtdJU)! (2/2)
Today we hosted Amanda Fernandez for an #LHCbUK seminar on #CERN Knowledge Transfer, showcasing how technology initially developed at @CERN has been used in applications around the world! (1/2)
#LHCRun3 has officially begun! ๐ฅณ
There are now stable beams in the world's most powerful particle accelerator, with collisions at the highest energy ever achieved of 13.6 TeV.
After the long upgrade, the LHC is now ready for data collection and possible new physics! ๐
Special event for CERN and the LHCb this afternoon!
At 16:00 CEST CERN are live streaming the first collisions of Run 3 of the LHC, at 13.6 TeV
Join us to experience this event alongside our #lhcbuk colleagues

This detector might not be big, but without it @LHCbExperiment physics would not be possible. It's the upgraded VELO detector, product of years of work by many people in many institutes. It's faster, more precise, and will soon be ready for #Run3!
The installation of the new @LHCbExperiment Vertex Locator started today! To find out more, check out our latest Instagram post, featuring two UK students at CERN #restartingLHC#UKatCERN

Thanks @matthewkenzie for the really interesting @WarwickPhysics EPP seminar on Custom Orthogonal Weights ๐. Work done in collaboration with other stats experts from @LHCbExperiment
Great news! A Thread ๐
The final piece of the upgraded LHCb detector @CERN has completed the first leg of its journey towards unlocking some of the most enduring mysteries of the Universe ๐ช

Today the two #LHC pilot beams of protons were accelerated, for the first time, to the record energy of 6.8 TeV per beam. ๐
After #restartingLHC, this operation is part of the activities to recommission the machine in preparation of #LHCRun3, planned for the summer of 2022.
We have posted the first of our #LHCb UK Student profiles to Instagram today featuring the designer of our new logo @richyrhubarb!
Richard is a first year PhD student at @Cambridge_Uni as well as the Publicity Officer for @chaosscience!

๐ฃ Beam in the accelerator!
After over three years of intense upgrade work, we are #restartingLHC.
Two beams of #protons are now circulating in opposite directions around the Large Hadron Collider, expecting to reach the record energy of 13.6 TeV in the summer of 2022.
Weโre delighted to hear that the LHC restart has been a success. ๐
It is a privilege to be involved in the funding and research of such an amazing scientific project, and we look forward to the findings of the next research cycle.
