There have been lots of festive activities taking place in the department this week. Some classes were making Viral Particle Snowflakes, others carrying out Christmas chromatography and the S4 physics class were competing to make the longest paper chain from an A4 sheet of paper.

Our S3 and S4 Chemistry Classes spent today made borax crystal Christmas decorations. Aren’t they fabulous! 🌲 ⭐️ ❄️ @LinwoodHigh

The S4 Science class have been learning about Smart materials like hydrogels. Yesterday they were investigating how hydrogels work in nappies. @LinwoodHigh

Our Higher Biology classes enjoyed a trip to the University of Glasgow today. They had some hands on experience of the PCR technique and gel electrophoresis. A fantastic experience for everyone involved! @LinwoodHigh

S1D have been working on their ‘Eco Home’ projects. They were to incorporate features that could both save and produce energy. Mr Hammond carried out the judging and voted Ellie P in 3rd place, Lauren C and Lexie I in 2nd place and Corey A and Ava S in 1st place. @LinwoodHigh
