I don’t understand why these music NFT platforms are setting themselves up to be so anti-web3 at the core of their development ethos. The fact you can’t mint on one and it show up on another (for example mint on Sound and it show up on Zora) defeats the whole purpose.

With the way these platforms are setting themselves up they’re literally no different than web2 solutions like Bandcamp, just using a different payment processing method. It’s really sad because we actually need interpretable open music marketplaces for this space to thrive.

Right now the way it’s set up as a web2 analogy; you have to pick whether your song can be on Apple or Spotify or make two whole separate versions if you want to hit those two different demographics of audience. I don’t see how this is conducive in any way.

All this to be said, it looks like what I’m working on with the team is about to blow up for real cause these platforms seem very intent on carving out their own little monopolistic pockets, but the marketplace solution that will be coming soon we’ve been building eliminates this as a factor with the first REAL web3/blockchain music marketplace that actually allows for open trading across the CHAIN not just things that are minted or purchased on any one particular website.
