Today at the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development (MGLSD), in partnership with LCA Uganda, CAPAIDS Uganda joined a high-level national capacity-building workshop to roll out the Self-Reliance Index (SRI) tool for refugees and host communities. This important gathering brought together key stakeholders, including:
Member organizations of LCA Uganda
Commissioners and senior officers from MGLSD
Refugee-Led Organizations (RLOs)
National Planning Authority (NPA)
Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS)
Representatives from the Conrad Hilton Foundation
Leadership from KCCA Headquarters and its divisions
The workshop focused on leveraging the SRI tool to strengthen the Jobs and Livelihoods Response Plan. By systematically tracking self-reliance metrics, we can deliver more effective, data-driven strategies for sustainable livelihoods. Ultimately, this initiative will enhance Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) outcomes while aligning with proven Government of Uganda development models. We are proud to be part of this collaborative push toward greater self-reliance and resilience. #LCAUganda #SRITool #RefugeeResponse #SustainableLivelihoods #JobsAndLivelihoods #RefugeeLivelihoods
Happening Now!
We have brought together PEWOSA Youth Dev't SHG and Amaryllis SHG for a powerful experience-sharing and learning session.
This unique exchange bridges a refugee-led SHG and a Ugandan-led SHG to share diverse dynamics, break isolation, and build mutual empowerment. Members are currently reflecting on their growth, impact, and actionable strategies to help households overcome life's shocks and stresses. 🤝✨
Immense gratitude to our partners who make this possible: Dioraphte Foundation, The Share Trust, and LCA Uganda!

RE: SPEAKERSHIP RACE
I wish to draw the attention of the public to the matters regarding the Speakership race.
After wide consultations and deep introspection, and to maintain harmony and clarity in my beloved party, the @NRMOnline, I wish to categorically and unequivocally state that I will not be offering myself for the Speakership race of the 12th Parliament.
I am greatly indebted to H.E @KagutaMuseveni, my party, the @NRMOnline, and members of the 11th Parliament for giving me the opportunity to serve as Deputy Speaker and Speaker.
I am equally indebted to my family and friends for the solidarity and support they have extended to me over the last five years.
I pledge my total support to the candidates who will be endorsed by the President and the Party, and Implore all colleague MPs of the 12th Parliament to do the same.
I shall remain available to the service of my country as the party and the President may assign me.
In the meantime, I pledge to continue cooperating with all ongoing investigations as initiated by the relevant organs of the state to get to the root of all the allegations raised.
FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY.
