@Strickland__Ben@Smoggypedro How did they prioritise Ayling? Ayling wanted to stay so he signed a new deal. Fry wanted to see what he could get elsewhere so didn’t. That’s it.
Ayling was fine for the vast majority of games last season, being worried about him being 3rd choice is alarmist to say the least.
@wallsendredicko SCR isn’t a licence to spend whatever you receive in transfer fees. Squad costs are still restricted. Sales, season ticket income and prize money all help, but they don’t mean we suddenly have £40m to throw at the squad. Can’t spend money we don’t have yet, Rogers may not move.
@stuiekerr@joffa81 Yet they thought Jeremy Sarmiento was?
I’ve looked through the accounts, net spend was effectively nil and there was huge margins with profit and sustainability rules to get a striker.
How people are genuinely blaming KH rather than the absolute disaster of a January window is quite bizarre and typical of Boro fans who love to hound managers out at every given opportunity. Absolutely embarrassing
