@Strickland__Ben @Smoggypedro How did they prioritise Ayling? Ayling wanted to stay so he signed a new deal. Fry wanted to see what he could get elsewhere so didn’t. That’s it.

Ayling was fine for the vast majority of games last season, being worried about him being 3rd choice is alarmist to say the least.

@wallsendredicko SCR isn’t a licence to spend whatever you receive in transfer fees. Squad costs are still restricted. Sales, season ticket income and prize money all help, but they don’t mean we suddenly have £40m to throw at the squad. Can’t spend money we don’t have yet, Rogers may not move.
