I met with the President of the UAE, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan @MohamedBinZayed.

The President thanked our team for its work here in the Emirates. For Ukraine, this is also a matter of principle: terror must not prevail anywhere in the world. Protection must be sufficient everywhere. That is why we are open to joint work that, in a strategic perspective, will certainly strengthen our peoples and the protection of life in our countries.

We discussed the security situation in the Emirates, Iranian strikes, and the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which directly affects the global oil market. For all normal states, it is important to ensure stability and protect lives amid today’s threats. Ukraine has relevant expertise in this area – our cities, unfortunately, have been under daily attack for four years of full-scale war. Ukrainians have developed an appropriate protection system that delivers a significant interception rate against enemy drones and missiles. This systematic approach and integration of experience is exactly what we are offering to our partners.

I am grateful for the meeting and for the readiness to work together. We agreed to cooperate in the field of security and defense. Our teams will finalize the details.

We are doing everything to ensure that our joint actions are enough to truly protect Ukraine – and therefore Europe.

Since February 24, Poland’s support for Ukraine has been unprecedented – never before at this scale in our shared history. Lithuania is with us – at an unprecedented level as well. All Baltic states are with us. Northern Europe is with us. Germany is one of the key defenders of life. France is with us. The United Kingdom is with us. Almost all of Central Europe is with us. Italy is with us. Spain and Portugal, the countries of Southern Europe, are with us. Romania and Moldova are with us.

In 1863, the insurgents could not even dream of such unity – and today, that unity is working. The European Union exists and grows stronger every year. The United States is with us. Canada is with us. Japan is with us.

Our call is simple: this unity must be 100 percent effective. Not halfway. Not for a few months a year. Not until the next elections in one European country or another. But fully effective. Not what is convenient. Not what feels acceptable. But as much as is required to work – so that there is no threat to Europe or to any of our nations.

Only Russia is the source of this war, the reason the war is being dragged out, and it deserves all retaliatory strikes and pressure for everything it does against life and people, against diplomacy, against partners.

We carefully monitor and document every attempt by the Russians to undermine our relations with partners. We see which lobbyists Moscow is engaging, through whom it is trying to act, which internal operations it is attempting to launch in Ukraine and in Europe. Our response will be tangible – through our special services, through our intelligence agencies, through political cooperation with our partners, and, in particular, through sanctions.

What is important is that the U.S. Congress is back in motion on tougher sanctions against Russia – targeting Russian oil. This can truly work. I thank everyone who is helping.

Нарада з Премʼєр-міністром Юлією Свириденко. Передусім доповідь щодо відновлення в областях після російських ударів по енергетиці.

Уряд виділив додатково 1,5 мільярда гривень саме прифронтовим регіонам для захисту обʼєктів енергетики. Сформований резерв обладнання для оперативного відновлення енергопостачання, і будемо цей резерв збільшувати. Окремо обговорили ситуацію в газовому секторі, нарощування запасів газу та забезпечення людей. Домовилися, що найближчим часом уряд ухвалить постанову, яка збереже фіксовану ціну на природний газ для побутових споживачів. Також уже ухвалене рішення про мораторій на відключення споживачів у прифронтових громадах від енергозабезпечення. Попри всі виклики маємо підтримати громади, яким зараз найскладніше.

Доручив також підготувати й доповісти про конкретні шляхи підвищення зарплати вчителів, щоб уже ухвалені рішення про підвищення зарплати запрацювали наступного року. Важливо, щоб були й відчутні результати в підтримці внутрішньо переміщених осіб. Очікую урядовців на доповідь із цих двох питань наприкінці цього тижня.

I had a meeting with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko. First and foremost, a report was presented on recovery efforts in the regions following Russian strikes on the energy sector.

The Government has allocated an additional 1.5 billion hryvnias specifically to frontline regions to protect energy facilities. A reserve of equipment has been established to ensure rapid restoration of power supply – and we will continue to expand this reserve. We also discussed the situation in the gas sector, the buildup of gas reserves, and ensuring supply for the population. We agreed that in the near future, the Government will adopt a resolution on maintaining a fixed price for natural gas for household consumers. A decision has also already been made to impose a moratorium on disconnecting consumers from energy supply in frontline communities. Despite all the challenges, we must support the communities currently facing the hardest times.

I also instructed the preparation and reporting of concrete steps to raise teachers’ salaries, so that the already approved decisions on salary increases take effect next year. Ensuring tangible results in supporting internally displaced persons is also important. I expect Government officials to report on both of these issues by the end of this week.
