It's not always easy, but it is always worth the effort. My mother still enjoys showing off her new haircut and a nice manicure: "Isn't this a wonderful color, Lindy," she says while stretching out her hand. "Yes, Mommy, it is," as I take her hand in mine. https://t.co/H2BiEXwT1N

From the moment I could read, I've been immersed in books~glorious, glorious books. The first in my memory is this one, by #AnnaBrigadere. #AnnelesGramata ("Annele's Book") was given to my Mum in 1940 wartime #Riga, #Latvia. Through flight, it made its way to me. #WorldBookDay 📚

when disaster strikes, remember Adrienne Rich’s words: “My heart is moved by all I cannot save: / so much has been destroyed // I have to cast my lot with those / who age after age, perversely, / with no extraordinary power, / reconstitute the world.”
We may sometimes feel that we can’t do much as individuals, but humanity is made up of individuals; we can make a difference. As individuals we can influence our own families. Our families can influence our communities and our communities can influence our nations.
Can the medieval woman REALLY have it all?! Fredegond is certainly trying. She sits on horseback with a baby in her arms, addressing the troops

@jasoninmia Also, I had fencing in high school for a couple of quarters, and my father was a fencer at Heidelberg. So I would like to fence again because it would warm my heart. And feel warrior-like.
@jasoninmia Well, I still do yoga regularly. *Do* yoga...hmmm..."we'yll," as Samantha [Stevens] would say. Warrior pose still comes naturally (i.e. I can move/breathe into and out if it without humiliation or injury). Scorpion pose is a..challenge...but I like challenges. Sort of...🧘♀️
