The new Garissa–Tana River Bridge, a 150-metre crossing implemented by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), is now complete. It will ease traffic congestion and improve the movement of people and goods between North Eastern Kenya and the rest of the country.

Together with improvements to the Garissa–Madogo road, it will help reduce flood-related disruptions and provide safer, more reliable access to markets and essential services.
