CONGRATULATIONS, XONARA: 1Z Entertainment’s first girl group, @officialxonara, officially stepped into the spotlight with their debut showcase titled XONARA’s World, held at Escolta Street.
Composed of Eurekah, Ella, Dominique, Tin, Megumi, Lei, and Namie, the seven-member act introduced themselves to fans and media through a showcase that celebrated not only their music, but also the meaning and identity behind the group they hoped to become.
The members shared that they felt blessed, grateful, and nervous as they marked the official beginning of their career, culminating in the premiere of the music video for their debut single “TABI.”
The group’s name carried a deeper meaning rooted in sound, courage, and Filipino identity. “XONAR” (sonar) symbolized their voices and music, while “XORA” was inspired by Melchora Aquino, whom the group looked up to as a revolutionary figure who embodied bravery and resilience. “NARA,” meanwhile, referenced the narra tree, the national tree of the Philippines, representing strength and endurance.
Beyond performing the track, members Eurekah, Megumi, and Tin also took part in the creative process as composers and lyricists for “TABI,” while acclaimed music collective RADKIDZ served as the song’s producers.
The accompanying music video was directed by Justin alongside Alanshiii, while Felip and Justin also contributed as styling consultants, helping shape the visual identity of the group’s debut era.
Dominique shared during the showcase that the group intentionally chose Escolta Street as the venue for their launch because of its rich history and enduring legacy—qualities they hoped to emulate throughout their own career.
By beginning their journey in one of Manila’s most historic districts, XONARA expressed their desire to become part of the country’s evolving cultural history and eventually leave behind a lasting legacy of their own.
