Earlier this week, Deputy Lieutenant, Mrs Tess Hart MBE had the honour of attending a Citizenship Ceremony at Lady Gillford’s House in Carlisle. She warmly welcomed our new citizens and presented them with their certificates of citizenship to the UK. Many congratulations!🎉
Last Saturday, Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Debbie Keighley MBE represented the Lieutenancy at the “Pride by the Harbourside” celebrations in Whitehaven.
The event was vibrant and full of energy – a fantastic celebration of community and pride! 🎉
Deputy Lieutenant, Mrs Julie Barton, represented the Lieutenancy at the commemoration in Ulverston, where respects were also paid to all who served and their families.

On Friday 15 August, the Lieutenancy was proud to join communities across Cumbria in marking #VJDay80.
The Lord-Lieutenant attended a service in Carlisle City Centre and St Cuthbert’s Churchyard, paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who served in the Far East.

Yesterday in Barrow, Deputy Lieutenant Mrs Julie Barton attended a Citizenship Ceremony to welcome three new citizens to the UK, Dailom, Mary Grace and Stefania.
