Middle East’s largest development initiative of its kind empowering 33 of @isdb_group’s lower-income member countries to lift themselves out of poverty.
Partnerships that place people at the center are more important than ever. An important exchange between IsDB and the Aliko Dangote Foundation as we continue exploring ways to support communities across Member Countries through the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (hashtag#LLF).
Dr. Rami Ahmad, Vice President (Operations) of the Islamic Development Bank (#IsDB), received Ms. Zouera Youssoufou, Managing Director & CEO, and Mr. Ahmed Iya, Head of Community Engagement & Polio Eradication, from the Aliko Dangote Foundation at IsDB Headquarters in Jeddah.
The delegation is visiting IsDB to deepen their understanding of the Bank’s mandate and explore partnership modalities, including through the Lives and Livelihoods Fund (#LLF) — IsDB’s flagship blended finance facility supporting Member Countries in health, agriculture, and essential infrastructure.
Dr. Rami expressed that this partnership is particularly timely, as many Member Countries face pressing debt challenges that constrain their investments in people and livelihoods.
On #InternationalWomensMonth LLF’s Senior Gender Advisor Maria Teresa Dico Young stated: Transforming Women’s empowerment requires enforceable standards accountability, budgets, measurable results. Embed it in governance. Track it. Fund it. Own it. From intent to impact. #GEWE
Rural development is not one-dimensional.
In northern Morocco, the Inclusive Rural Growth Project is strengthening agriculture, roads and healthcare, improving productivity and livelihoods.
Integrated development, powered by blended finance and aligned with Morocco’s vision.
In Senegal, Malaria remains a major challenge. Through the SNMCP, LLF and the Government of Senegal reached nearly 4M people between 2018 and 2021, cutting incidence by 32.5% and case fatality by 40.9%.
Progress is real, but vigilance remains key.

Since 2016, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦—through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (@KSRelief_EN)—has been the Lives and Livelihoods Fund’s @LLF_fund (administered by the #IsDB) largest donor, contributing USD 200 million and helping unlock an ambitious USD 3 billion in concessional financing for countries burdened by high public debt.
This steadfast development commitment is transforming lives at scale by expanding access to essential social services, while also inspiring partners from around the world to join the Fund and amplify its collective impact.

Poverty rarely has one cause. A farmer can't work while sick. A child can't learn while hungry.
That's why we tackle Health, Agriculture & Infrastructure together across 22 countries – so everyone can build a future for themselves and their communities.
Despite major progress achieved over the last decade, for many in @isdb_group member countries, healthcare, food security & essential infrastructure remain out of reach.
Watch how we’re working to change that 👇🎬alongside our unique coalition of partners
