Wonderful Carol Service this evening at Greenmeadow Farm supported by HRH The Princess of Wales and The Royal Foundation.
The Choirs of the Federation of Blenheim Road and Coed Eva Primary Schools & Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbran were superb!
“As soon as I joined the army cadets it felt like home,” said Cadet Sergeant Dylan Morgans of Abergavenny Detachment, Gwent and Powys Army Cadet Force.
“You learn values and standards that are crucial for pretty much anything you want to do in life,” he added.
“My three years in cadets have been amazing – I’ve changed so much as a person and grown in confidence,” said Cadet Sergeant Ruby Gregg of Blackwood Detachment, Gwent and Powys Armey Cadet Force.
“The best thing about being a cadet is that I’ve had the opportunity to explore a lot of my hobbies, including cyber security”, says Cadet Flight Sergeant Abisha Jayan of 2353 (Ystrad Mynach) Squadron, No 1 Welsh Wing RAF Air Cadets.

On behalf of the Gwent Lieutenancy, I note with sadness the passing of HRH The Duchess of Kent. Her devotion to music, charity and young people will be long remembered. My sincere condolences to The Duke of Kent and family.
It is with deep sorrow that Buckingham Palace announces the death of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent.
Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully last night at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.
The King and Queen and all Members of The Royal Family join The Duke of Kent, his children and grandchildren in mourning their loss and remembering fondly The Duchess’s life-long devotion to all the organisations with which she was associated, her passion for music and her empathy for young people.

Today, on the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all who served. Today we especially think of those British and Commonwealth troops who fought in the Asia-Pacific.
We owe an enduring debt to the generation who gave so much, and to whom we will always be grateful. Lest we forget. W & C
“For the millions of families gathered around their wireless sets, and for their loved ones still serving far from home, it was the message a battle-weary world had long prayed for - ‘The war is over’.”
This morning, as we mark the 80th anniversary of VJ Day, The King has delivered an audio message to mark the historic occasion.
