To all guardians in the field:
On 7/7, we run it back. One last Bungie Day on the books. Show Sony we're still here. Show them the audience they're missing out on
Show the devs how much you appreciate their work.
Show everyone what Legends are made of.

If you are a studio or someone who works in the industry who can help the developers who were laid off today at Bungie, @starkissedvixen has created a google doc with a list of devs that were affected.
Fans can help by following and rting the devs. Show them some support ❤️

About Destiny
What can I say about a game that has been such a big part of my life for more than a decade?
Destiny was never just a game to me. It was my escape, my comfort, and my place to unwind after difficult days. It was where I forged friendships, created unforgettable memories, and became a legend alongside millions of other Guardians.
Today is a heartbreaking day as we learn about the departure of much of the team behind Destiny. These aren’t just developers—they are world-builders, storytellers, artists, dreamers, and truly remarkable people.
They didn’t deserve this outcome.
They didn’t simply make games. They created worlds that brought people together. They gave us adventures to share, communities to belong to, and moments of joy during some of life’s hardest times. Their work leaves behind a legacy that will endure for years to come.
To everyone who played a role in bringing Destiny to life: thank you.
And to those affected by these layoffs, please know that your work, your talent, and your contributions are not defined by what happened today. The impact you’ve had on millions of players around the world cannot be measured.
As a community, we stand with you. We support you. We appreciate you. And we are deeply grateful for everything you’ve given us over the years.
To the developers, artists, writers, voice actors, composers, QA teams, community managers, and everyone behind the scenes: thank you for making Destiny what it is.
The impact you’ve had on our lives is impossible to put into words.
And to the leadership that led us here: this outcome did not happen by accident. The responsibility for this pain and heartbreak rests with those who made these decisions.
Thank you for Destiny. Thank you for our memories. Thank you for building a place that so many of us will always call home.

One popular Reddit post declared, “We need to at least smash Marathon’s all-time high to show them they made the wrong decision”
I mean... yeah. But make no mistake - I wanna go back. REALLY badly, actually, and I know I'm not the only one. It's just, I've done all there is to do & there's no strong pull at the moment.
I've enjoyed all the new content we were given (dungeon, exotic mission, etc) but I don't have a strong desire to keep running it all back; there's no carrot for me right now to chase. Both sides of the game (PvE & PvP) need a lot of attention, but unless they decide to shut the lights off, I'm hopeful.
Feels like I haven't gone to my favorite restaurant in a while because I'm not vibing with the menu changes, and there's also a lot of GREAT new restaurants in town I wanna try out.
But man, the right menu changes... I'll come runnin.
