6/6 Today, on the first day of Eid, we returned and recovered the buried bodies of 8 PRCS, 6 Civil Defense and 1 UN staff. They were killed in their uniforms. Driving their clearly marked vehicles. Wearing their gloves. On their way to save lives. This should never have happened
OMG. Please read every last word of this shocker, including the emojis.
Amateur hour? Is the president, is America, being properly served?

I've just checked the world news sections of five of the biggest Western news organisations on the planet. Not one of them - not one - has covered the killings of Hossam Shabat and Mohammed Mansour. A disgrace.
"There is... a new army chief who said, ‘2025 is going to be the year of war.’"
Al Jazeera's Hamda Salhut argues that Israeli PM Netanyahu never intended to agree to the ceasefire's second phase after his coalition vowed to take over Gaza.
Exclusive: "If anything happens to me, the BBC is responsible."
Abdullah al-Yazuri, the 13-year-old narrator of Gaza: How to Survive a War Zone, speaks to MEE after the BBC pulled the documentary.
"I worked for nine months, and it was all wiped."
While the world is largely focused on Gaza and the tenuous ceasefire there, the Israeli military has been dramatically expanding its operations in the occupied West Bank. @JDiamond1 reports.
⚡️BREAKING: Statement by Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya’s family regarding the latest video published by Israeli Media:
“The footage broadcast by Israeli media of our father, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, the director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is yet another form of psychological terrorism, adding to the torture he has endured over the past two months. It also reflects clear media distortion through the manipulation and alteration of his statements.
When asked about the Israeli prisoners, he responded that he is a pediatrician. However, his answer was deliberately rephrased and distorted, despite him completely denying all accusations made against him.
We, the family of Dr. Husam Abu Safiya, reject any media outlet publishing the video without addressing the psychological terrorism involved and exposing the manipulation of his statements.
The sight of our father shackled and unable to move should prompt immediate and continuous action to ensure his immediate release.”
Israel is responsible for nearly 70% of journalist killings across the globe in 2024 with a total of 85 killings, according to CPJ’s #2024KilledReport.
“They were living the war – which we’ve seen has been devastating for Gaza – at the same time they were reporting,” CPJ program director Carlos Martínez de la Serna told @HuffPost, adding that Palestinians journalists would also often face smear campaigns by Israeli authorities, who would attempt to paint the press as terrorists.

President Trump’s White House is now a court, and his courtiers scurry around, aware that the mercurial monarch might change his mind at any time. He is enforcing a regime in which loyalty is paramount, overriding facts, overriding long-held convictions.

After years of displacement, #Syrians are returning home, experiencing both joy and sorrow. Families reunite, but many still search for loved ones lost to years of conflict and imprisonment. The former regime’s detentions have left scars, with many presumed dead or missing without a trace. Stories of unjust accusations and tragic losses are common, as families continue their desperate search. Despite the grief, moments of reunion bring hope, with communities celebrating those who return. However, the wounds from detention centres remain fresh and calls for justice persist. #Syrians balance their pain with hope for a better future.
With a ceasefire in Gaza holding for now, I spoke with @hzomlot, head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK, about devastation in Gaza, planning for the day after, Trump’s influence, and if the PA will hold elections any time soon. Watch our full conversation.
How has Jewish trauma been exploited by Israel to justify its war in Gaza?
