Metro Council will vote of Resolution to support LMPD training in Brazilian Joy Jitsu.
Councilman Jeff Hudson is sponsoring resolution in effort to bring safer outcomes for both LMPD officers as well as public.
Today is the first day of Metro Council FY23 Hearings.

I want to welcome our new police Chief Ericka Shields. She was unanimously selected by the committee and Mayor Fischer accepted that top recommendation. I look forward to meeting her and working together to improve LMPD and the relationship they have with our citizens.
The seven members of the Louisville Metro Council’s Minority Caucus have filed a resolution requesting a vote of no confidence in the Mayor and asking for his resignation.
MC Government Oversight Committee will vote on an order to investigate Mayor Fischer & his administration’s actions/inactions leading up to & following the death of Ms. Breonna Taylor. Committee will also seek subpoenas for former LMPD Cheif Conrad & Acting Cheif Schroeder.
