This is proof of the ineffectiveness of FIFA’s so-called safeguarding system and the failure of its ‘investigations’ into paedophilia in Congolese football, which have resulted in the conviction of just ONE coach (the least significant one, who has already been imprisoned multiple times for paedophilia), whilst leaving the system in place

Thank you all for sharing this, as FIFA has (once again) failed the victims and whistleblowers who nevertheless testified before its Ethics Committee (and they cannot claim otherwise, as I put them in contact with the committee because FIFA was UNABLE to carry out even the slightest investigation)

@Samingo_real @le_polisson @JamesSurowiecki Because if you don't "let it carry on", then, as games go on, the red card loses its punishing value. And red cards do typically get reviewed and appealed at club level, but because the World Cup is so quick, its harder to do so in a reasonable manner.

@le_polisson @JamesSurowiecki Americans dont seem to mind the opaqueness of a tribunal, whereas with referee's, there is a clear point of accountability. We can see the opaqueness of FIFA with the decision of Florian Balogun. I don't want to see an increase in these kinds of decisions.

RE; Balogun - One of the major concepts that US fans seem to be missing here is the level of danger and risk associated with, and considered reasonable, in football. We can take basketball, firstly as an example from American sport.

He didn't mean it, but it happened regardless. This is the clear framework of football. It helps maintain a high quality of football, and a high level of safety. Thats the intention. Intention is the last consideration for red cards, and is typically only used as an intensifier.
