The Olympic officials are ~50% NHL, 50% IIHF. The IIHF schedules based on merit. NHL officials are not restricted by home country when it comes to scheduling. There are 4 CAN Refs (3 NHL), 3 USA refs (2 NHL), 2 SWE, & 1 each from LAT, CZE, GER.
