Dr. Pekarek's Social Studies class did a reenactment of Civil War surgery today in class. Our state has a rich history and our students got a taste of what it was like in "bleeding Kansas" and on the Civil War battlefield.
Mr. Beach came this morning to talk about the life cycle of the butterfly in Mrs. Ediger's class. The students are learning about the migration pattern of butterflies going from Mexico to Manitoba Canada and the different types of milkweed plants.
The 6th grade science students got the pleasure of having Mrs. Natasha Hunter-Cundy from Saline County Emergency Management to speak about Severe Weather.
We will kick off our fall fundraiser next week. 8th graders will bring home an information sheet on Monday, 7th graders on Tuesday, and 6th graders on Wednesday. LMS will receive 50% of the proceeds.
The first day of school will be Thursday, August 12th for all 6th grade students. All students will attend on Friday, August 13th. Doors will unlock at 7:10am and students will receive their class schedule when they arrive on their first day of school.

For incoming 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing volleyball....starting June 8th there will be an open gym every Tuesday and Thursday from 8-10am at Central in the aux gym. Please bring a water bottle.
